Carolina Courage News Release
Morrisville, NC (April 1, 2003) - Birgit Prinz, the MVP of the 2002 WUSA Founders Cup, arrived in market and reported to Carolina Courage training camp today. The German striker, arguably the most dominating in Europe, returned to the Courage late due to national team duty in Germany. She recorded her 100th appearance for the German National Team last Thursday against Scotland. In that match she scored twice, her 46th and 47th international goals, to pace Germany to a 5-0 victory.
The Courage will open its defense of the WUSA Founders Cup trophy on Saturday against Mia Hamm and the Washington Freedom at 2:00 pm at SAS Stadium in Cary. A limited number of good seats for this historic rematch of the 2002 WUSA title game are still available, but tickets are going fast.
To obtain your seats, call Ticketmaster at (919) 834-4000 or contact the Carolina Courage ticket office at (919) 573-7626.
