Houston Dash News Release
Houston Dash forward Michelle Alozie has been called up by the Nigerian Women's National Team. The forward joins the Super Falcons after scoring the game tying goal in stoppage time of Houston's comeback against Washington on Aug. 27.
Nigeria takes on the Unites States Women's National Team in a pair of friendlies on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City with kickoff slated for 12 p.m. CT. The second match up will be next week on Sept. 8 at Audi Field in Washington D.C. at 5:00 p.m. CT
Alozie returns to Nigerian Camp after helping helped the Super Falcons clinch a World Cup berth after an impressive showing at the African Women's Cup of Nations tournament in July.
Alozie has scored two goals for the Dash this season. The Aug. 27th goal proved to be the most crucial the Yale graduate has scored so far in Orange. Houston is trying to keep pace with the top teams in the league to secure its first ever playoff appearance. Houston currently sits in second place in the NWSL with the chance to not only reach the playoffs but host a game at PNC Stadium.
Alozie and the Dash will return to action on Sept. 11 against expansion side Angel City FC. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
