Forward Madison FC News Release

Seconds into the start of the match, Forward Madison FC started with their foot on the gas. In the first minute of play, forward Nazeem Bartman played an easy ball across the box to a wide-open Wolfgang Prentice, who tapped in the early goal. The home squad was up 1-0 before anyone could take a seat.

With fire in their eyes, the 'Mingos continued to press down the field in hopes of extending the lead. In the 21st minute, FMFC midfielder Derek Gebhard found Devin Boyce at the top of the box, but Boyce mis-hit the ball over the crossbar.

With short time left in the half, Greenville was awarded a penalty kick due to a Forward Madison foul committed by Michael Chilaka. Greenville's Jamie Smith stepped up and put the ball into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the half.

In the second half, both sides made a substitution to keep momentum in their favor. However, Greenville was able to capitalize quickly, with a goal in the 53rd minute by Leonardo Castro to go up one. However, Forward would not give up, and just three minutes later, FMFC was awarded a penalty kick. Forward, Christian Chaney stepped up for the home squad and buried it to level the game once again at 2-2.

With one goal under his belt, Chaney put pressure on the Greenville defense. In the 62nd minute, Chaney headed a ball, just skimming the post to bounce out. A few more subs were made for either side to continue the attacking momentum in hopes of getting the three points.

Five minutes of stoppage time were indicated by the referees, and Forward Madison turned on the offensive jets. Substitute, Cherif Dieye, stormed down the right side of the field and crossed the ball into the box. Chaney faked a touch and the ball fell to another substitute, Juan Galindrez, who curled the ball into the top right corner of the goal. After Galindrez's last-minute goal, the 'Mingos finished the match with a win, 3-2, taking home three points at home.
