Forward Madison Releases 2023 Goalkeeper Alternate Kit

Forward Madison FC released the 2023 Retro Goalkeeper Alternate Kit today, with the jersey coming in two colorways.

The Retro Goalkeeper Kit draws inspiration from the big, bold styles of 90's fashion, while having fun with retro colorways. The neon-driven color palettes accent the Midnight and Slime versions of the kit, with custom 90's-esque bubble fonts adorning the kit.

"90's television remains pure nostalgia for me," Forward Madison Creative Director Will Jenkins said. "It was overly saturated cartoons, impossibly caffeinated drinks, vibrant goalkeeper kits & 8-bit songs on your console's loading screen. Everything about it aesthetically just fit. It was loud, eye-catching & for some reason, only bubble letter fonts existed. This was our homage to that era of art, especially the art worn in between the goalposts."

"Our inspo boards were constantly filled with the puffy sleeves & attention-grabbing designs of keeper kits in the 90's, so we knew we had to try and put our spin on it," Jenkins said. "One night I started drawing what would become the pattern on the kit. I shot it over to a colleague who immediately said, "that's it!""

The 2023 Retro Goalkeeper Kit, in both colorways, is available now online and in-store. The first chance for fans to catch the new kit in action is tonight, when Forward Madison hosts Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC at 7pm. Tickets for that match are still available here.
