Forward Madison FC News Release
Forward Madison picked up a point Wednesday night as they faced Toronto FC II at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisconsin. Aaron Molloy started off the Flamingos night with a monstrous strike from outside of the box to give the home team the 1-0 lead. While FMFC controlled possession and the flow of the game for much of the first half, Toronto found an equalizer in the 28th minute when Julian Altobelli touched a ball into the corner of the net. The game remained tied as it went to the first half.
The second half got off to a flying start in the 51st minute for Forward as Derek Gebhard was served a beautiful ball over on the wing from Justin Sukow and he netted home a near post shot to regain the lead for the Flamingos. FMFC kept the pressure on for the entirety of the second half, having multiple chances at goal, but nothing to show for it. Toronto FC II equalized the match in the 86th minute with a curling ball from Kobe Franklin.
Up next at Breese Stevens, Forward Madison welcome current 7th spot team North Texas SC this Saturday, August 21. With the draw tonight, Forward Madison move up from 9th to 8th in a very tight USL League One table.
