Forward Madison FC returned to the friendly confines of Breese Stevens Field for a match against Chicago Fire 2 of the MLS NEXT Pro league. The first half of the match was back and forth, with both teams alternating in possession and chances. The goals started flowing for both squads in the second half, with the Flamingos striking first courtesy of Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu. Shortly after scoring the first, Justin Sukow and Mikey Maldonado took FMFC 3-0 ahead. Chicago Fire 2 struck back with a goal of their own in the 79 ¬Â² minute, but Forward immediately responded with a 4th goal thanks to Mikey Maldonado in the 80 ¬Â² minute.
The Flamingos wrap up the preseason slate with a date against Bavarian United on Saturday, March 26th at 1pm. This preseason match is open to Forward Madison FC season ticket holders.
