Houston Dash News Release
HOUSTON - (Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016) - Houston Dash forward Kealia Ohai and midfielder Morgan Brian were selected by U.S. Women's National Team head coach Jill Ellis for the 24-player roster for two friendly matches against Romania on Nov. 10 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. and Nov. 13 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. The roster was announced by U.S. Soccer earlier today and these friendlies are the final matches for the senior national team this year.
This is the second senior national team roster selection for Ohai, who finished with an NWSL-leading 11 goals and four assists this season. The University of North Carolina product earned her first cap on Oct. 23 and scored 48 seconds into her debut, breaking the previous record for the fastest debut goal of 49 seconds set by Western New York Flash forward Lynn Williams on Oct. 19. The Draper, Utah native is the first non-allocated Dash player to be selected for a USWNT roster.
Brian has earned 61 caps with the USWNT and won the Golden Ball as the most outstanding player at the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship last February. The 23-year-old midfielder started in 13 games for the Dash this season.
USWNT co-captain Carli Lloyd is not on the roster as she is getting married in November.
