Forward Jordan Nelson Commits To Mankato

FARGO, ND -Fargo Force forward Jordan Nelson has committed to Minnesota State University, Mankato for the fall of 2013.

Nelson, a Williston, ND native, is in his second year with the Fargo Force after being selected ninth overall by the team with their first pick in the 2011 USHL Entry Draft. The forward has played in 96 games throughout two seasons with Fargo, posting 44 points with 22 goals and 22 assists. His most productive season isn't even over yet with 26 of those points coming from the current season alone. Nelson sits fifth on the team in scoring and was just recently on a 7-game scoring streak where he scored 7 goals and added 3 assists, including notching a hat trick on January 4 in Omaha. He has had four multi-point games so far this season.

Nelson is the 14th player on the Fargo Force to commit to play Division 1 hockey. He will join former Force players Chase Grant (2008-2010), Matt Leitner (2008-2010) and J.P Burkemper (2009-10) at Mankato.

The Fargo Force play at home tonight at 7:35 PM and tomorrow at 7:05 PM for a weekend series against the Omaha Lancers.
