Forward JJ Williams Named to USL Championship Week 16 Team of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - FC Tulsa earned its fifth win at ONEOK Field of 2022 on Saturday night over Charleston Battery, propelled by forward JJ Williams' two-goal performance. The USL Championship took notice of Williams' heroics and named Williams to the Week 16 Team of the Week, his second weekly honor of the season.

Williams netted both of Tulsa's goals in its 2-1 victory, both of which were scored in the first half, allowing FC Tulsa to settle into the match comfortably. He was a menace from start to finish, playing all 90 minutes and totaling six shots, four of which were on target.

In addition to his offensive performance, Williams also showed out defensively for FC Tulsa on loose balls and on set pieces. The 6'3'' forward won four of his six arial duels and finished the match with three clearances to go along with two interceptions.

Williams' brace was the third of his career and his second of the season with FC Tulsa. With 20 career USL Championship goals under his belt, FC Tulsa's leading goalscorer is sure to increase that number even further in the second half of the season.

With Williams' Week 16 award, FC Tulsa has now been represented in the Team of the Week nine times through the first 16 weeks of the USL Championship season.
