LOS ANGELES (Thursday) - Mexican National Team Head Coach Juan Carlos Osorio has named LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos to Mexico's final 23-man roster for the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017. Dos Santos is currently with the Mexican National team for their World Cup Qualifier matches on Thursday, June 8 against Honduras and Sunday, June 11 against United States. He'll remain with the National Team through the conclusion of the Confederations Cup.

So far, Dos Santos has made one appearance for Mexico in 2017, serving up the game-winning assist in their 1-0 victory over Iceland on Feb. 8 in Las Vegas. Osorio named Dos Santos to Mexico's World Cup Qualifier roster on May 16.

In the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil, Dos Santos appeared in all three group stage games for Mexico. They bowed out in the group stage that year, with Brazil and Italy advancing.

Dos Santos joins the national team after enjoying a successful May for the Galaxy, leading them to an unbeaten 3-0-1 record and scoring in every match. Dos Santos has featured in 50 matches for the Galaxy since joining in August of 2015, and he's tallied 23 goals and 18 assists in that time. He was named to MLS' Best XI and MLS All-Star roster in 2016.

The Mexican National Team and Dos Santos will begin their Confederations Cup campaign on Sunday, June 18 against Portugal at Kazan Arena in Kazan Russia. The match will kick off at 8:00 a.m. PT. In March, Mexico was drawn into Group A of the tournament, along with Portugal, New Zealand and tournament host Russia. A full schedule of Mexico's group stage games are below.
