Fort Worth takes game one from Aviators

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth Cats defeated the Coastal Bend Aviators 5-2 to take game one of the three-game series.

Matt Mann hit a homerun to lead off the ballgame for the Aviators.

Terence Green gave Fort Worth the lead with a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning putting the Cats up 2-1.

The Aviators came back to tie the game in the top of the second when Jack Joffrion scored on Chris Judkin’s RBI groundout.

Green struck again in the fifth inning. Green hit a two-run double giving Fort Worth a 4-2 lead.

Kevin Lynn got the win for Fort Worth pitching seven innings and giving up only three hits. Josh Neitz faced one batter and picked up his first save. Jose Luis Lopez (0-3) gave up four earned runs and took the loss for the Aviators.

The Aviators continue the three-games series at Fort Worth tomorrow at 7:05. The Aviators will be back home on Friday, May 20th to take on Shreveport in a three-game series.
