
Fort Worth Rallies to Earn 6-3 Win

Fort Worth, Texas --- A four-run eighth inning gave the Fort Worth Cats a 6-3 victory over the San Angelo Colts Saturday night at LaGrave Field.
The Cats trailed 3-2 entering the eighth, but they notched two hits and benefitted from a Colts fielding error to earn their third straight comeback win over San Angelo. Cats' shortstop Shelby Ford scored the go-ahead run on a fielding error by shortstop Landon Camp.
Left fielder Chad Gabriel reached base on the Camp error, and then scored from second on an RBI double by designated hitter Chuck Caufield. The Colts committed three errors on the night.
Caufield scored another insurance run on an RBI single by third baseman Brandon Jones.
Brian Henschel (1-1) threw a complete game, and took the loss. He allowed six runs, four unearned, on nine hits.
Cats' reliever Mace Thurman (1-0) tossed a scoreless eighth to earn the win. T.J. Bozeman pitched a 1-2-3 ninth and earned his first save.
Offensively for the Colts, left fielder Jamar Walton went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the year.
With the win, the Cats have taken first place in the United League at 8-3. The loss drops San Angelo to 7-4. The Colts and Cats play a series-ending doubleheader Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:35 p.m. at LaGrave Field. The game can be heard on KKSA.
The Colts next home game is Saturday, June 9 at 7:05 p.m. against the Abilene Prairie Dogs. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Colts' t-shirt, courtesy of 1st Community Federal Credit Union.
The San Angelo Colts are a member of United League Baseball who are in their 13th season. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
