
Fort Wayne's Russell Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2011 - Walker Russell of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Nov. 25 - Dec 4.
A 6-0, 175-pound guard out of Jacksonville State who has been in training camp with the New York Knicks, Russell led Fort Wayne to a 2-1 record for the week, averaging 20.3 points, 11.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
Russell recorded back-to-back point-assist double-doubles to open the season, tallying 20 points and 12 assists during a 110-106 win on Nov. 25 vs. Sioux Falls, and posting 24 points and 14 assists on Dec. 2 during a 118-110 win at Springfield.
Other top performers considered include Austin's Lance Thomas, who averaged 19.3 points and 10.0 rebounds; Bakersfield's Brian Butch, who averaged 19.8 points and 12.5 rebounds; Canton's Tyrell Biggs, who averaged 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds, Dakota's Edwin Ubiles, who averaged 16.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists; Erie's Donald Sloan, who averaged 24.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 8.4 assists; Iowa's Jarrid Famous, who averaged 21.0 points and 12.2 rebounds; Los Angeles' Elijah Millsap, who averaged 22.5 points and 8.3 rebounds; Maine's Chris Wright, who averaged 17.0 points and 10.8 rebounds; Rio Grande Valley's Terrel Harris, who averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists; Reno's Blake Ahearn, who averaged 25.0 points and 7.0 assists; Springfield's Jerry Smith, who averaged 20.7 points and 4.3 assists; Sioux Falls' Charles Garcia, who averaged 24.8 points and 6.8 rebounds; and Tulsa's Marcus Lewis, who averaged 16.6 points and 11.6 rebounds.
