Fort Wayne's Guy Dupuis Named Best Defenseman

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Guy Dupuis of the Fort Wayne Komets has been named the 2006-07 UHL Best Defenseman as selected by league head coaches, general managers, and members of the media.
The 36-year-old native of Moncton, New Brunswick, ranked first among defensemen and seventh in the league with 76 points (11g, 65a). His 65 assists were the second-highest total in the league, he led the UHL with 39 power play assists and he tied for sixth in the league with a plus-24 rating. In addition, Dupuis had three game-winning goals and recorded 19 multi-point games. He had a season-high nine-game point streak (2g, 12a) from Jan. 19-Feb. 9.
Dupuis, who was selected to the 2007 UHL All-Star Classic, is the fourth Fort Wayne player to win UHL Best Defenseman in the past five seasons.
