Manchester Wolves News Release
Megan Carr was part of the 2004 inaugural Manchester Wolves Dance Team, and with a little help from her fans she's hoping to make another inaugural dance team.
The Manchester, N.H. native and West High School graduate tried out for the 'Celtics Dancers', an inaugural dance team for the NBA's Boston Celtics, back on June 10 in Waltham, Mass along with 250 other hopefuls and now Celtics.com is featuring her and five other finalists on their website.
The Celtics want to know who fans want to see make the first-ever 'Celtics Dancers' squad that will take the court this year by having fans vote for their favorite, and according to Heidi Sullivan-Laroche, it should be her!
"Megan has a love for dance, I've taught her for 14 years at my studio and I don't remember her ever missing a class," said Sullivan-Laroche, a former New England Patriots cheerleader and current Lady Wolf Pack Choreographer and owner of Dance Visions Network in Manchester. "She can definitely handle the pressures of dancing in the NBA, she'll dedicate her time to it and always give 110%. I really hope she makes it."
Currently, Megan is sitting in second place with 20% of the votes. Fans can vote for Megan once a day by going to http://www.nba.com/celtics/dancers/vote-favorite-finalist.html!!!
The final auditions will take place on July 11, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.
If Carr makes the 'Celtics Dancers' team, she'll be the second former Wolves Dance Team member to have made the jump from the Wolves to an NBA dance squad. Quinn Kingston, a 2005 Wolves dancer, made the transition last season from the bright lights of the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. to the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y. where she danced for the New York Knicks' City Dancers.
