Spokane Shock News Release
The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Brian Rackley, 6-6 280, has been added to their 2008 roster.
Rackley finished his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina in 2006. As a Tar Heel, Rackley accumulated 69 total tackles-including 10 for a loss with seven sacks-and two pass break-ups.
After his senior season, Rackley signed a free-agent contract with the NFL's New Orleans Saints before being cut during training camp. During his Pro-Day Workout, Rackley recorded a 4.84 time in the 40-yard dash.
"Brian has the kind of size, speed and strength that we are looking for to help our pass rush this season," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "He's very similar to a player we had last year, Anthony Brown, but he has about 40 pounds on AB. Their frames are very similar - long and lean."
Shackleford's roster now stands at 17 players signed under contract. The Shock's roster will carry 35 players during training camp and will then be cut to 22 players for the regular season. Season tickets for the 2008 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (509) 242 7462.
