Pioneers Assigned Six Players for 2008

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are very excited to announce that they have been assigned six very talented athletes for the upcoming 2008 season. The team welcomes WR Prince Prempeh, DB Tyler Trettin, WR/DB Allan Barnes, FB/LB Brian Gilmore, OL/DL Sean Hill, and OL/DL Joseph Romero to the Pioneers' family.

WR Prince Prempeh (6-3, 195) is a former standout from Marist College. Prempeh led the Red Foxes' receivers in catches with 37 and receiving yards with 655 during the 2006 season. Throughout the 2004-2006 seasons Prempeh accumulated 74 receptions for a total of 1,134 yards and 9 touchdowns.

DB Tyler Trettin (6-2, 205) led the 2006 Bloomsburg University Huskies in interceptions with five for a total of 44 yards. In addition, Trettin finished his last season ranked third on the team with 70 tackles (39 unassisted), six pass breakups, and one blocked kick.

The other assigned players come from outstanding collegiate football programs as well. WR/DB Allan Barnes (6-0, 190) played for the University of Connecticut Huskies from 2003-2006, FB/LB Brian Gilmore (6-0, 252) is a former Penn State Nittany Lion, OL/DL Sean Hill (6-5, 330) played for Lackawanna Junior College, and OL/DL Joseph Romero played for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen.
