Adirondack Lumberjacks News Release

Glens Falls, NY- The Adirondack Lumberjacks announced today the signing of former Red Sox prospect Carlos Brackley to a Northern League contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6'2, 225 pound Brackley graduated from Wake Forest University in 2001. He was signed by the Boston Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent in June of that year. The native of Metairie, LA hit .329 with six homers and 21 RBI's as a member of the Red Sox Gulf Coast League Team. His performance earned him a promotion to Single-A Lowell of the New York-Penn League, where he hit .360 with one home run and six RBI's in just 25 at-bats for the Spinners.

Brackley has appeared in two games thus far with the Jacks. He has been held hitless in six at bats, but did pickup an RBI in the Lumberjacks 3-0 victory over the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks and Pepsi will present a fireworks display on Saturday, July 20 following the Jacks game against the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs. Game time is 6 PM with gates opening at 5 PM. For tickets to this and all remaining home games, call the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (518) 743-9618.
