Former Scorpion Harvey Called Up To AHL

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed former New Mexico Scorpions left wing Kevin Harvey to a professional tryout contract. Harvey will make his AHL debut tonight in San Antonio where former Scorpions head coach Ray Edwards currently is an assistant coach.

Harvey played his first two professional season with the Scorpions from 2006-2008. In 109 games the Hamilton, Ontario native scored 29 points (13G, 16A) while picking up 482 penalty minutes, fifth most in Scorps history.

This weekend take a break as the holiday season ramps up and enjoy a hockey game or two. Now is the time to come for some fun and stay for some hockey.

The Scorpions host Amarillo Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. Friday, bring a new stuffed animal for the "Teddy Bear Toss." After the Scorpions score their first goal, toss the fuzzy friends onto the ice. The Exchange Club of Rio Rancho will also be selling bears for purchase at the game. All stuffed animals collected will be given to local children in need.
