Houston Takers News Release

Houston, TX. "I had the privilege of meeting Orlando Woolridge about 12 hours ago," stated ABA Houston Takers owner Larry Leonard II. "And we just hit it off right away. I was a fan of his when he was playing and I got an excellent resume backed by John Lucas and Robert Reed (also from the Houston area). This just felt right, so we welcomed Orlando aboard as head coach."

"This came very fast," added Woolridge. "One minute I'm having a great seafood dinner at Boudreaux's; the next minute I'm the coach of the Houston Takers. I can't wait for the season opener. Our guys won't miss a beat with the up and down style of play that I like."

Woolridge is known for the famous number 0 before Gilbert Arenas and played with Michael Jordan, Bill Lambeer, Dennis Rodman, Magic Johnson, Byron Scott and other great players. "I am used to winning. And we'll be very competitive, I can assure you that," said Woolridge.

"What will Orlando bring to this team in Houston? Will it be a championship? We'll see soon as we open this Friday against the Texas Tycoons, a very formidable opponent," said Leonard. For more information, email houstontakers@yahoo.com, visit www.houstontakers.com or www.abalive.com.
