FC Tulsa News Release
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced another signing today in former New England Revolution draftee Michael Gamble. The 24-year-old played four years at Wake Forest University before being selected in the second round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by the Revolution.Â
"Michael is a very fast two-way player who we expect to get behind the defense and provide service into the box," said TRFC Head Coach David Vaudreuil.
Gamble enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career for the Demon Deacons. During his freshman year, he appeared in all 20 games and started 19, finishing second on the team with 8 goals and 20 points. His play led him to be selected to the All-ACC Freshman team.
After being limited by injuries in his second year, he bounced back during his junior season in 2014. Gamble finished that year with 6 goals and 10 assists and was named First Team All-ACC.
In his senior season with Wake Forest, he earned second-team All-ACC honors and second-team All-South Region recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America while leading the Demon Deacons to the College Cup Elite Eight.
In his collegiate career, Gamble scored 24 goals and had 20 assists, which are both tied for 13th in school history. His 68 total points are tied for ninth-most.
The forward did not appear in a regular season game for New England, but he did make one appearance in the USL while on loan to the Rochester Rhinos.
Gamble attended high school in Owings Mills, Maryland.
