
Former Lumberjack Cameron Darcy Signs Entry-Level Deal with Tampa Bay Lightning

MUSKEGON, Michigan (April 17th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that former Lumberjack Cameron Darcy has agreed to a three-year, two-way entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, who drafted the South Boston, Massachusetts native in the seventh round at 185th overall during the 2014 NHL Draft. Darcy has reported to the Lightning's American Hockey League affiliate in the Syracuse Crunch, where the forward has signed an amateur tryout contract with the club for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.
Darcy skated for the Lumberjacks during the 2012-13 season amassing 13 goals and 19 assists in 48 games combined between the regular season and playoffs after arriving from Northeastern University, where the former Dexter School (Massachusetts) product dished out a pair of assists to go with a plus-one rating in his brief nine-game collegiate career. Before arriving in Muskegon, Darcy spent two seasons from 2010-12 with the USNTDP totaling 19 goals and 15 assists in 126 games combined between the Under-17 and Under-18 Teams. Against USHL competition while with the USNTDP, Darcy recorded 13 goals and 6 assists in 61 league games played.
Following his time in the USHL, Darcy skated two seasons from 2013-15 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Sherbrooke Phoenix, respectively, notching 62 goals and 91 assists in 131 games.
Darcy joins two additional past Lumberjacks in Brendan Woods (2012 - Carolina Hurricanes) and Jaycob Megna (2012 - Anaheim Ducks) to reach a National Hockey League deal with the respective teams that drafted them during the NHL Draft.
