
Former Fourth-Round Pick Kim Signed By Surf

Atlantic City, N.J. - The Atlantic City Surf of the Can-Am League have announced the signing of first baseman Eddie Kim.
Kim played the 2007 season with the Bradenton Juice of the South Coast League, where he hit .290 with 17 doubles and 45 RBI in 81 games. It was the second season in independent baseball for the Los Angeles native, as he split 2006 between Florence and River City of the Frontier League.
Previously, Kim, 26, spent three seasons in the Oakland organization, after being chosen in the fourth round by the Athletics in the 2003 draft out of James Madison University. Kim had a career-high 12 home runs with Kane County of the Class-A Midwest League in 2005, while he finished sixth in the Class-A Northwest League with a .305 average for Vancouver in 2003. At JMU, he was twice named the Colonial Athletic Association's Player of the Year, hitting .412 in his senior season.
The Atlantic City Surf open their 2008 Can-Am League home schedule on May 26 against the league's newest member, the Ottawa Rapids. Season and single-game tickets are available by calling the Surf ticket office at (609) 344-7873.
