The Lions have secured pass protection for Mason Espinosa and now they added another weapon to an already lethal passing attack with the signing of wide receiver Jarmon Fortson. Fortson was a signee with the Lions last season before he was cut and returned to the Jacksonville Sharks.

Fortson joined the Lions following the 2021 season opener against the Empire, in what was his third stint in Columbus. Fortson joined an already stacked wide receiver room, with Lonnie Outlaw, Antwane Grant and Romond Deloatch already being featured in the offense.

After not being used much, the Lions cut Fortson and he returned to the Sharks in Jacksonville. Fortson appeared in three games for the Sharks, including a game in Jacksonville against the Lions. In those three games, Fortson caught 13 passes for 65 yards and five touchdowns.

Fortson's season came to an end after the Sharks failed to make the NAL Playoffs. He has now left Jacksonville and is returning to Columbus once again, a place where he has won two championships.

Fortson brings 10 years of professional experience with him to the Lions as well as familiarity with the offense of Coach Gibson. He will also be appearing on the defensive side due to the new NAL Ironman rules. ‚¬Å’
