Former Firecat Javarus Dudley Receives AFL Honor

Estero, FL- Former Florida Firecats WR/DB Javarus Dudley was named to the AFL's all-rookie team the AFL announced today.

Dudley, the all-time leader in career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns at Division I-AA Fordham and 2 time all-Patriot League selection, began the 2005 season with the Firecats playing in 5 games snagging 16 passes for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also was averaging nearly 19 yards per kick return for Florida before signing with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.

Playing for the Orlando Predators this season he finished 2nd on the team in receptions with 78 for 1035 yards and 14 TD's. He also registered 27 tackles in just 13 games. Javarus got stronger as the season went on leading the team in receptions for the final 6 games of the regular season.

The Firecats have won 5 straight to improve to 5-1 on the year. The team currently sits in 1st place in the South Division. This week the team heads to Manchester, New Hampshire to play the 2-4 Wolves Saturday May 20th at 7:30pm. Florida and Manchester split their series meetings last season, with the road teams coming out on top of both games.

The Games can be heard each week on 98.9 FM WGUF Naples FM Talk and www.ABC-7.com and www.NBC-2.com. The Firecats will return home to Germain Arena to play their next 3 games beginning Saturday May 27th against the South Georgia Wildcats.
