
Former Brockton Rox Rhett Wiseman Selected 103rd Overall in MLB Draft

Rhett Wiseman, a member of the 2012 Brockton Rox team, was drafted in the third round (103rd overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals.
Wiseman, a junior on the Vanderbilt University baseball team, leads the program in home runs (14) and is headed with his teammates on a mission to win back-to-back championships at the 2015 College World Series in Omaha this weekend. He is currently second on the team in batting average (.318), has hits (85), on-base percentage (.419) and runs scored (66). He also swiped 12 bases in 14 attempts.
Wiseman was also selected to the NCAA All-Regional tournament team (Nashville) and is clutch in pivotal at-bats for the Commodores throughout tournament play.
During his 2012 summer season with the Rox, Wiseman owned a batting average of .228 and he totaled 16 RBIs, 27 runs, 44 hits and 3 homeruns. Wiseman was also drafted out of high school in the 25th round (764th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs. Upon the organizational shift to college wood-bat baseball, joining the Futures Collegiate Baseball League in 2012, Wiseman was the first player of the new era to get drafted.
