Former Bison/World Series Champion Ed Kranepool to Speak at Hot Stove Luncheon

The Buffalo Bisons announced today that former New York Mets All-Star and World Series Champion Ed Kranepool and New York Mets Director of Minor League Operations Adam Wogan will both speak at the team's Hot Stove Luncheon, Friday, January 16 at the Adam's Mark Hotel.

The Hot Stove Luncheon will begin at 12:00 p.m. with doors to the Adam's Mark Grand Ballroom opening at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling (716) 846-2011.

Kranepool, who also played two seasons with the Buffalo Bisons, is a member of the New York Mets Hall of Fame and the only person to play in each of the club's first 18 seasons. "Steady Eddie" holds the club mark for games played (1,853), at-bats (5,436), total bases (2,047), hits (1,418) and doubles (225). He also hit 118 home runs with New York from 1962-1979 and was a National League All-Star in 1965. Kranepool played 112 games for the 1969 Mets team that won a World Series Championship over the Baltimore Orioles.

Prior to his time in New York, Kranepool played two seasons with the Bisons in 1963 and 1964. He hit .310 with five home runs and 33RBI in 53 games in his first season in Buffalo. The following season, Kranepool hit .352 with three home runs and seven RBI in 15 games before getting a permanent promotion to the Mets.

Wogan has been the Mets Director of Minor League Operations for the past three seasons and oversees all of New York's minor league teams. Prior to joining the Mets, Wogan spent four seasons as the Director of Player Development for the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals.

About the Hot Stove Luncheon -Bisons to Unveil New Team Uniforms

Along with Kranepool and Wogan, the afternoon's program will include the unveiling of the Bisons New Home and Road Uniforms. Fans will be able to place orders for personalized jerseys at the event. The 2009 Official Game Cap, as well as other several items featuring the team's new logo, will be available at the event. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with a buffet lunch served at 12:00 p.m.

Tickets are only $20 and tables of eight can be reserved for $160. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Bisons at (716) 846-2011. The Bisons are asking fans to RSVP for the event by Tuesday, January 13.
