Force To Ride Wave In Weekend Series

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will play host to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division Milwaukee Wave in the first game of a home and home weekend series on Friday, January 23 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. The Force will then head to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 24 to take on the Wave at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

The weekend series with mark the final two meetings of the season between the teams. The season series is tied at 1-1. Milwaukee won the first meeting by a final score of 8-5 on October 31 at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Cleveland won the second meeting by a final score of 10-6 at the Convo on November 1.

The Force enters the match up with a record of 6-10 overall, 2-3 versus Central Division opponents, 3-4 at home and 3-6 on the road. Cleveland won their second straight game with a 9-7 win over the Kansas City Comets last Saturday. Cleveland currently sits in third place in the Eastern Division trailing the Philadelphia KiXX by 4.5 games for second and the Baltimore Blast by seven games for first.

The Wave enters the weekend with a MISL best record of 13-4 overall, 2-3 versus Eastern Division opponents, 6-4 on the road and 7-0 at home.

Milwaukee fell to the Comets by a final score of 8-6 last Friday night at Kemper Arena. The Wave are currently in first place in the Central Division seven games ahead of Kansas City and eight games ahead of the St. Louis Steamers.

Forwards Braeden Cloutier and Ato Leone each have score four points in the two games to pace the Force. Leone has recorded three goals and added one assist while Cloutier has tallied one goal and added three assists in the series. Forwards Lee Edgerton and Adauto Neto and defender John Ball all have contributed three points in the two games.

Milwaukee is lead by the MISL leading scorer and forward Greg Howes and forward Todd Dusosky each have notched six points in the two games. Howes has recorded four goals and added two assists while Dusosky has tallied two goals and added four assists.
