
Force To Face First Eastern Division Opponent

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for an early battle for the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Eastern Division title with the Philadelphia KiXX on Saturday, November 8 at the Wachovia Spectrum.
The Force enters the contest with a record of 3-1 overall and 0-0 versus Eastern Division opponents. Cleveland split a pair of games with the Milwaukee Wave last weekend. The Force fell to the Wave 8-5 Friday night in Milwaukee and then posted a 10-6 victory over Milwaukee on Saturday in Cleveland's home opener. The Force currently is tied atop the MISL Eastern Division with Philadelphia a game and a half ahead of the Baltimore Blast.
The KiXX enter the game with a record of 3-1 overall and 2-0 versus Eastern Division opponents. Philadelphia has defeated the Blast two times this season, including a 9-4 victory last Saturday at the Wachovia Spectrum.
Last season, Cleveland outscored the KiXX 69-60 in the six meetings. Philadelphia out shot the Force 199-145 while Cleveland tallied 94 saves to 56 for the KiXX. On the power play, the Force went 7-9 (.778) while Philadelphia was 3-8 (.375).
Forward Lee Edgerton led the group of returning Cleveland players in scoring with 14 points in the season series. Defender Hector Marinaro, who missed the last three games, was second with 12 points while defender Nevio Pizzolitto was third with six points. Midfielders Justin Evans and John Ball round out the top scorers with five and four points respectively.
Of the group returning for Philadelphia, midfielder Kevin Sloan led all players with 12 points in the season series. Forward Joel Shanker, who did not play in the last two games, recorded 11 points while Head Coach and forward Don D'Ambra along with forward Goran Vasic each tallied nine points.
