Force Takes First Shot at Defending Champion

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to face the defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion and MISL Eastern Division foe Baltimore Blast on Friday, November 14 at the 1st Mariner Arena.

The Force enters the contest with a record of 3-2 overall and 0-1 versus Eastern Division opponents. Cleveland fell to the Philadelphia KiXX by a final score of 7-4 last Saturday at the Wachovia Spectrum. Cleveland is currently in second place in the MISL Eastern Division trailing the KiXX by one game and ahead of the Blast by 1.5 games.

Baltimore enters the game with a record of 3-3 overall and 0-2 versus Eastern Division opponents. The Blast reached the .500 plateau with an 8-4 victory over the Monterrey Fury last Saturday at 1st Mariner Arena.

Last season, Baltimore outscored the Force 65-40 in the six meetings. Cleveland out shot the Blast 190-174 while The Force tallied 77 saves to 76 for Baltimore. On the power play, the Blast went 5-8 (.625) while Cleveland was 3-6 (.500).

Midfielder John Ball and defender Hector Marinaro paced the returning players for the Force in the season series with seven points. Midfielder Justin Evans and defender Nevio Pizzolitto each contributed four points while forwards Braeden Cloutier and Lee Edgerton each netted two points.

Baltimore was led by MISL Rookie of the Year P.J. Wakefield in the season series as the forward tallied 14 points. Forward Tarik Walker was second with 13 points while defender Danny Kelley recorded 11 points. MISL Championship series MVP Denison Cabral chipped in with eight points.
