QUOTE CORNER

"Most of our games are like the first period of this one. We shoot a dozen times and get nothing and the other team shoots once and scores. Tonight, though, we stayed with it, and though some individuals came up big at key moments, overall the entire team played well and we got the result."
- Tim Wittman, Baltimore Blast coach, after his club beat the Monterrey Fury 8-4 on Saturday night

"Tonight was a lesson learned. We figured out that you have to show up every night and do the grunt work."
- Cleveland Force coach Andy Schmetzer, after his team's 7-4 loss in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

"I thought we were mentally ready, but that [first-quarter scoring flurry from San Diego] was a big turnabout. That was the difference. We tried to fight back from then on."
- Kansas City coach Zoran Savic, after the Comets allowed four first-quarter goals in a 6-3 loss in San Diego on Sunday
