CLEVELAND, OHIO. - The Cleveland Force played host and was defeated by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division Kansas City Comets by a final score of 10-8 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.

With the win, the Force snaps a five game losing streak improved to 5-10 overall, 2-2 versus MISL Central Division opponents, 1-0 in the season series and 3-5 at the Convo. With the loss, the Comets fell to 6-11 overall, 3-3 versus Eastern Division opponents and 3-6 on the road.

Cleveland opened the scoring (1-0) when Hector Marinaro scored the restart goal off the corner kick pass from Zoran Karic at 8:08 of the first quarter. Kansas City tied the game (1-1) when Jamar Beasley stole the ball and found the back at 9:11. The Force regained the lead (2-1) when John Ball scored the goal off the pass from Lee Edgerton at 923. Cleveland added to its lead (3-1) when Karic chipped the ball over the Comets goalkeeper DJ Horvath for the score at 12:32.

Kansas City cut into the lead (3-2) when Brian Soell found the back of the net off the pass from Miodrag Djerisilo at 5:19 of the second quarter. The Comets tied the game (3-3) when Vlatko Andonovski scored the unassisted goal on the header at 7:27. Kansas City took its first lead of the game (3-4) when Andonovski found the back of the net at 9:34. The Comets added to their lead (3-5) when Franck M'Bemba scored the goal off the pass from former Force forward Anthony Maher at 9:57. Kansas City kept up the scoring attack (3-6) when Dino Delevski scored the goal on the header off the cross from Wes Wade at 11:40.

Cleveland cut into the lead and opened the second half scoring (4-6) when Ato Leone found the back of the net off the assist from Karic at 7:08 of the third quarter. The Force cut the lead to one point (5-6) when Justin Evans scored the goal off the pass from Marinaro at 7:40. Cleveland tied the game for the third time (6-6) when Karic scored the restart goal off the pass from Omid Namazi at 10:15. The Force regained the lead (7-6) when Edgerton scored the power play goal off the cross from Marinaro at 11:06.

The Comets tied the game for the fourth time (7-7) when Andonovski scored his third goal of the game off the assist from Delevski at 3:14 of the fourth quarter. Kansas City regained the lead (7-8) when Soell scored his second goal of the game off the cross from Matt Tanzini at 6:30. Cleveland tied the game for the fifth time (8-8) when Chris Dore found the back of the net off pass from Namazi at 8:42. The Force took the lead (9-8) when Marinaro scored the goal off the third assist of the game for Namazi at 11:07. Cleveland sealed the game (10-8) when Leone scored his second goal of the game off the assist from Josh Timbers at 14:19.

Cleveland will travel to Kansas City, Missouri to take on the MISL Central Division Kansas City Comets on Saturday, January 17 at the Kemper Arena.
