Force Rookies Leads Impact To Victory

CLEVELAND, OHIO- Force Forward Joel Bailey and the Montreal Impact defeated the Haitian Select Team by a final score of 6-0 on Sunday afternoon in a friendly exhibition at Claude Robillard Stadium. The friendly match-up against a Haitian select team to celebrate the Bicentennial of Haiti's Independence. The Haitian team featured some of the best players from Haitian origin including up-and-coming players from the Haitian Football Federation national program.

Bailey was the player of the game as he recorded four goals in a span of 10-minutes in the second half. In his first season in the A-League, Bailey has appeared in three A-League matches and has yet to record a goal or an assist.

Bailey appeared in 22 games for the Force in his rookie season. Joel recorded six goals and added seven assists for a total of 13 points with seven assists. He has joined Force teammate Nevio Pizzolitto with the Impact this season. Pizzolitto has yet to see any action as he is still recovering from hernia surgery in March that ended his season with Cleveland

Montreal will next play a home-and-home series with the Toronto Lynx. The two teams will face off on Friday, May 28 at Claude Robillard Stadium and then Impact will then travel to Toronto on Saturday. Both games will also count in Can-Am Cup standings and will begin at 7:30 and 6:00 p.m. respectively.
