Cleveland Force News Release

CLEVELAND, OHIO - - The Cleveland Force will look for their first win of the 2004-05 season when they face the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division Chicago Storm at the Cleveland State University Convocation Center.

The action can be heard live on WHK 1220 AM or WHKW 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or live worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. EST rather than the usual Saturday night kick-off time, as the Force is holding its annual Boy Scouts Fun Fest.

The Force looks to avenge their 6-5 lost in Chicago on Wednesday night. Even though the Force were able to come from behind and tie the game twice, Storm forward Chris Carrieri, now tied with Costea Decu for team lead in points with five, won the game with his second goal of the game-a power play tally-56 seconds before the end of regulation. Cleveland forward Chris Handsor scored two game-tying goals giving him the team lead in goals and points with four. Midfielder Robbie Aristodemo scored his first goal for the Force and defender Rene Rivas scored his first points (1 goal and 2 assists) in a Cleveland uniform. Rivas is now tied for second on the team in points (3) with defender John Ball.

After Wednesday night's clash, the Force still leads the all-time series versus Chicago with a 29-17 record. Chicago is in Cleveland for the first time since December 16, 1995 when the Crunch defeated the Power 24-10. The most recent home match for the Force took place on March 26, 1988 when they defeated the Sting 5-3. The Force holds a 19-5 advantage at home, which includes an unbeaten 5-0 mark at the Convocation Center.
