Cleveland Force News Release
CLEVELAND, OHIO - - The Cleveland Force continues the 2004-05 season this Wednesday, November 3 when the team travels to Chicago, Illinois for the first time in nine years to take on the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division Chicago Storm at the University of Illinois--Chicago Pavilion.
The action can be heard live on WHK 1420 AM or WHKW 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or live worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com as Al Pawlowski will handle the play-by-play duties all season long. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Cleveland owns the all-time record versus Chicago with a 29-16 record, which includes winning eight of the last nine games. The Force will meet a Chicago foe for the first time since December 16, 1995 under the Crunch moniker defeating the Power 24-10. The teams' last meeting in Chicago also ended with a Crunch victory 19-14. The most recent clashes under the Force banner took place on March 26, 1988 when they defeated the Sting 5-3. However, the last time the Force was in Chicago, the Sting posted the victory by the same score.
Defender John Ball and forward Chris Dore are tied for the team lead in points with two along with newcomers forwards Sipho Sibiya and Chris Handsor and midfielder Gary DePalma. Chicago is lead by indoor veteran Leo Pernia and former MLS forward Chris Carrieri with three points apiece.
The game could have milestone implications as it continue streaks for midfielder Robbie Aristodemo and John Ball as they have already appeared in 73 and 37 straight games already. Goalkeeper Jim Larkin can reach the 1,900 save plateau with 27 saves and Sipho Sibiya is five away from 100 blocks.
