Force looks to kick into second place

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will look to extend their winning streak to season-high six games as well as move into second place in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) standings this weekend when the team will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the MISL second place Philadelphia KiXX on Saturday, March 26 at the Wachovia Spectrum.

The Force enters the weekend riding a season-high five game winning streak and with a record of 16-13 overall, 10-6 at home and 6-7 on the road. Cleveland posted two victories last weekend over the Chicago Storm on Saturday night (5-4) and the Kansas City Comets on Sunday (7-5). The Force is currently in third place in the MISL standings a half game behind the KiXX in second place and three games behind the Milwaukee Wave for the top spot. Cleveland leads the St. Louis Steamers in fourth place by one game.

Philadelphia comes into showdown with a record of 18-14 overall, 11-5 at home and 7-9 on the road. The KiXX defeated the Baltimore Blast by a final score of 9-6 last Saturday night at the Wachovia Spectrum.

The game between the Force and Philadelphia will mark the eighth and final regular season meeting between the two squads. The contest will mark the 68th meeting between the two squads with Philadelphia holding a 43-24 advantage. The KiXX the season series 4-3 after posting a 7-6 overtime decision on February 26th. In the seven previous meetings, three of the games have been decided in overtime with Philadelphia posting victories in all three, including one double-overtime contest.

Cleveland is led by forward Chris Handsor in the season series with 11 points on seven goals and four assists in six games. Forward and team captain John Ball is second in the series with 10 points on three goals and series-high seven assists in six games while forward Sipho Sibiya has been credited with six goals and one assist for seven points placing him third in the seven games.

The KiXX are led by forward and head coach Don D' Ambra in the season series with 11 points coming on five goals and six assists. Defender Pat Morris is second with seven goals and three assists in six games while rookie forward John Barry Nusum is third with nine points on four goals and five assists in just five games.
