Steamers Acquire Carlos Farias In Trade With Baltimore: The Steamers have announced several roster moves, the most notable being the acquisition of one of the top scorers in the league in a trade with the Baltimore Blast. Steamers president Michael Hetelson announced that the team has acquired forward Carlos "Chile" Farias from Baltimore in exchange for forward Mike Apple and defender Nate Houser.
Farias, 28, is a two-time All-Star who currently ranks third in the MISL Spalding Scoring Race with 41 points (22 goals, 19 assists). He is tied for fifth in the league in assists (19) and ranks second in the league with 127 shots and four game-winning goals. The Santiago, Chile native has been named MISL Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
In other roster moves, Lindsay Kennedy's five-game contract will expire following Saturday night's contest at Kansas City. She will come off the active roster but will continue practicing with the team.
St. Louis will activate midfielder Elvir Kafedzic, the Lindenwood University standout was the Steamers' first round pick, third overall, in the 2005 MISL College Draft held on February 22.
