
Force grab top spot in AFLWA poll

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, March 23, 2005 â In the latest Top 8 Poll conducted by the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA), the Georgia Force moved up two spots to claim their first No. 1 ranking in team history.
Georgia (6-2) became the sixth team to occupy No. 1 spot in nine weeks of the 2005 AFL season, by virtue of their 49-47 victory over the No. 6 Orlando Predators last Saturday. The Force received 10 first-place votes and 101 points.
This week, the top ranked Force travel to face the No. 2 New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, March 26th at 8 p.m. in a battle for the top spot in the League and Southern Division standings.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The website is www.aflwa.com.
