Force drops second game of weekend to KiXX

CLEVELAND, OHIO. - The Cleveland Force played host to and was defeated by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Eastern Division Philadelphia KiXX by a final score of xx-xx at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.

With the loss, the fell to 6-14 overall, 0-6 versus MISL Eastern Division opponents, 0-3 in the season series and 3-7 at the Convo. With the win, the KiXX improved to 13-8 overall, 5-1 versus Eastern Division opponents 7-5 on the road.

Cleveland opened the scoring (1-0) when the Dynamic Duo connected on the goal as Hector Marinaro found the back of the net off the restart pass from Zoran Karic at 1:12 of the first quarter. Philadelphia tied the game (1-1) when Mauricio Vincello scored the goal off the pass from Les Lunsford at 7:16. The KiXX took their first lead of (1-2) when Goran Vasic stole the ball just beyond the midfield strip and chipped the ball over Force goalkeeper Jim Larkin for the goal at 7:28. Cleveland tied the game (2-2) when Fred DeGand scored his first career MISL goal off the pass from Ato Leone at 13:54.

Philadelphia regained the lead (2-3) when Joel Shanker found the back of the net off the rebound shot from Ze Roberto at 1:42 of the second quarter.

The KiXX added to their lead (2-4) when Don D'Ambra scored the power play goal off the assist from Ze Roberto at 8:18 of the third quarter. The Force cut into the lead (3-4) when the Dynamic Duo teamed up again as Marinaro scored the goal off the restart assist from Karic at 12:58.

Philadelphia added to its lead (3-5) when Pat Morris found the back of the net off the cross from Joel Shanker at 4:11 of the fourth quarter. The KiXX sealed the game (3-6) when Shanker scored the empty net goal against the sixth attacker at 13:56. Philadelphia added another empty net goal (3-7) when Morris scored the goal at 14:39.

Cleveland will play host to the MISL Central Division Monterrey Fury on Friday, February 6 at the Convo. The game can be heard live on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland as well as 1440 AM WHKW in Warren or worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com starting at 7:35 p.m.
