Fog Devils select first player in franchise history

The St. John's Fog Devils Hockey Club selected Jean Simon Allard 4th overall in today's QMJHL Midget Entry Draft, making the Quebec native the franchise's first ever Entry Draft selection.

Allard, a 6'1, 178lbs center, played with Jonquiere of the Quebec Midget "AAA" League last season. He won the Mario Lemieux Trophy as the Best 15 Year Old for Quebec "AAA" Midget Hockey last year. Allard is described as a:

"Pure offensive talent who is real threat offensively on the rush....He has an excellent combination of size, skill and skating; protects the puck very well, is not selfish and sees the ice well.... Can control and set-up the play and score... A talented player with pro potential".

The Fog Devils had the 2nd overall pick, but traded it to the Acadie-Bathurst Titans for the today's 4th overall pick and the Titans' 1st Round Pick in the 2006 Midget Entry Draft.

The St. John's Fog Devils are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League. The franchise begins its inaugural season in September 2005.

Season Ticket information is currently available at the Fog Devils website (www.fogdevils.com). Former Season Ticket Holders of the St. John's Maple Leafs are currently being given first right to their seats until June 8. After this dates, Season Tickets will be available to the public.
