Fog Devils Launch Hard Hat Award

St. John's (November 5, 2007) - The St. John's Fog Devils are proud to announce the launch of a new minor hockey initiative designed to promote hard work, character, and fair play. The St. John's Fog Devils Hardest Working Player Award is now in full swing and has been met with resounding fanfare from minor hockey organizations across the Metro Region.
The program is designed to recognize the hardest working players at the Novice and Atom house league levels. Five minor hockey organizations are a part of the program launch - St. John's, Avalon Celtics, Goulds, CBR, and Mount Pearl - with an eye on a possible expansion into other age groups in the future.
Essentially, at the end of each game, the coaching staff of a given team will select a player who best exemplifies the Fog Devils spirit of hard work, character, and fair play. The player then receives a hard hat, courtesy of KD Pratt and Impact Signs, as well as a certificate of achievement and a ticket voucher for an upcoming Fog Devils home game of their choice. Winners of the award also have their pictures posted on fogdevils.com and shown as part of a tribute video on the Mile One Centre videoboard during a Fog Devils home game.
With this program now in place, along with other community initiatives such as Dine with the Devils, the Janeway Hospital Christmas visits, and the annual Tim Horton's Jamboree, the St. John's Fog Devils continue their commitment to growing a winning culture both on the ice and in the community.
