
Flying Tigers Manager Dave Huppert Wins 1,900th Game

Lakeland, FL - Lakeland Manager Dave Huppert notched win number 1,900 tonight as the Flying Tigers defeated the Dunedin Blue Jays 4-1. Huppert currently has the most wins by active minor league managers. Stan Wasiak is the all-time leader in managerial MiLB wins with 2,530.
This season is Huppert's 28th as a MiLB manager and fifth with the Flying Tigers. He began his managerial career in 1986 with the Helena Brewers of the Milwaukee organization. He has managed in the Brewers system (1986-91), Chicago White Sox (1993-98), Florida Marlins (1999-2001), Montreal Expos (2002-2004) and Philadelphia Phillies (2006-2010). He led the Flying Tigers to a Florida State League Championship in 2012. He also guided Single A Lakewood to the South Atlantic League championship in 2006 and Single A Clearwater to the Florida State League Championship in 2007.
Huppert has been tabbed as his league's manager of the year twice during his career, earning the honor in the California League in 1988 and the Florida State League in 2001.
