RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, will unveil their jam-packed promotional schedule for the 2010 season over the next five days, beginning with the introduction of an expansive fireworks series to celebrate their inaugural season in Richmond. The Flying Squirrels 2010 fireworks series will feature 13 fireworks extravaganzas, including the Flying Squirrels home opener at the Diamond on April 15th, and an Independence Day Celebration on July 4th. The rest of the team's promotional calendar will be released throughout the week in the following categories: Giveaway Items, National Entertainment Acts, Theme Nights and Community Involvement Nights.

"We have gone to great lengths to ensure that every night at The Diamond will provide a truly unique fan experience," said Flying Squirrels' Vice President & COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "A fireworks extravaganza always creates an electric atmosphere at the ballpark, and we are thrilled that we will be able to provide that experience to so many people on so many special occasions."
Beginning with their game on Thursday, June 3rd, the Flying Squirrels will feature fireworks following every Thursday home game of the season. Additional Fireworks nights include the inaugural Flying Squirrels game at The Diamond on Thursday, April 15th, and a Memorial Day Fireworks Spectacular on Monday, May 31st. The team will also host an expansive Independence Day Celebration, featuring fireworks displays on both Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th. Fan Appreciation Day will also include a fireworks tribute to the fans on Sunday, September 5th. The Richmond Times-Dispatch will present a special Fireworks Spectacular on Tuesday, June 8th.
