Fort Worth Flyers News Release

FORT WORTH, Texas, November 16, 2005 - In a move designed to broaden their reach both domestically and internationally, the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA's Development League announced today they will audio stream the team's home games on fwflyers.com.

The Flyers' first audiocast will began during the team's home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 23, when they host the Tulsa 66ers beginning at 7 PM at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

"With the Collective Bargaining Agreement now allowing the assignment of young players to the Flyers roster, it made sense for us to provide broadcasts to an international market, including the markets of our NBA affiliates -- Portland, Los Angeles, the Bay Area and Dallas," said team president Todd Speer.

The audiocast provides real-time audio coverage of the Flyers' 23 home games. Additionally, the audiocast will feature compelling interactive features, engaging fans throughout the season. Every player's individual statistics will update on the Flyers' home page as well, including points, rebounds, assists and turnovers from tip-off to the final buzzer.

Several Fort Worth players have established international professional basketball roots. In fact, Flyers' head coach Sam Vincent recently served as the head coach of the Nigerian Sr. Men's team and guided the team to a third place finish in the 23rd FIBA African Championship Game in Algiers, Algeria, and qualified for the 2006 World Championship Games in Japan.

Flyers' players with overseas experience include: Vonteego Cummings (Adriatic League, Italian League), Daryl Dorsey (Rome Gladiators) and Brandon Robinson (Finland and Estonia). Meanwhile, South Australia native Luke Schenscher played his early years "down under."

"Since we're a league that develops the talent of local, national and international players, we want to be accessible to basketball fans across the globe," Speer said.

Since the start of the 2005-06 D-League season, five NBA players have been assigned to a D-League affiliate. The Washington Wizards recently assigned John Ramos to the Roanoke Dazzle, the Minnesota Timberwolves designated center Dwayne Jones and guard Bracey Wright to the Florida Flame, while the Phoenix Suns have assigned Dijon Thompson to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds and the Milwaukee Bucks have assigned Ersan Ilyasova to the Tulsa 66ers.
