Flyers Pound Outlaws

Orange County Flyers News Release


The Orange County Flyers bludgeoned the Chico Outlaws for the second straight night at Nettleton Stadium with four homeruns en route to a 14-5 win.

The game was tied 2-2 in the 4th inning when Brian Rios and Pat Breen hit back-to-back homeruns. Jeff Larue followed with a single and Fernando Pacheco hit a two-run homerun to get the Flyers out of striking distance. Mark Okano added another homerun in the 9th inning.

Brothers Merricks, starter Matt (1-0) and reliever Charles, pitched seven strong innings. Monte Mansfield and Dane De La Rosa finished off the Chico Outlaws.

The Flyers offense was also buoyed by Josh Arhart, who drove in two runs and Larue, who doubled his season's RBI total with three on the night.

Orange County (6-3) will look for the sweep Wednesday night when they send Jeremy Zick to the mound at 7:05.
