Long Beach, CA, June 1, 2008. The Long Beach Armada, a proud member of the Golden Baseball League (GBL), announced their Blair Field Promotional Schedule for the month of June today. Beginning with their "Baseball At The Beach" Fireworks home opener on Friday, June 13th, the Armada sail into their fourth season of laughs, cheer, and fun at Blair Field.

From the team that brought to you headline grabbing promotions such the Inaugural Michael Vick Animal Awareness Day, Wedding At Blair With Judge Lance Ito, Jose Canseco's final season in professional baseball, and the longest team name in sports history, the Armada organization has once again set out to make the action outside the lines just as fun and entertainment as Manager Steve Yeager's team on the field.

The Armada kick off their 2008 Home Opener at Blair Field with "Baseball At The Beach" Presented by The Press Telegram, featuring popular surf band The Eliminators and a Fireworks show after the game.

The Eliminators are five Southern California longboarders who live the lifestyle of the music they play. Opening for superstar Jimmy Buffet and appearing on national radio and television, The Eliminators are spearheading the revival of surf music all across the country.

Joining The Eliminators will be members of The Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world's oceans, waves, and beaches. A special 50/50 raffle will be held to help support The Surfrider Foundation.

Every fan entering the building will receive a free 2008 Armada Magnet Schedule. And don't forget to stay for the Fireworks Spectacular.

The Armada are proud to present Long Beach Towne Center Chik-Fil-A Sunday Movie Nights, where fans will be able to enjoy a free movie after the Armada game on a huge inflatable movie screen.

June 15th is also Father's Day where Father and Son can play catch on the Blair Field grass after the game. All fathers and sons will also be able to enter to win a chance to get on the bus with the Armada and take a road trip for two aboard the Armada team bus for the April 22-24 games versus the Reno Silversox, with room accommodations and meals to be included.

It's been exactly 100 years since those "Lovable Losers" from the North Side of Chicago have won a World Series. And it has been over 60 years since William "Billy Goat" Sianis put a curse on the Cubbies when Sianis and his goat Murphy were kicked out of Blair Field and vowed that the Cubs would never win a World Series at Wrigley Field. Well, the Cubbies are in 1stplace and the Long Beach Armada want to help stop the longest pennant drought in Major League history.

In 1966, the Cubs, coached by Leo Durocher and starring Ernie Banks and Ron Santo, held part of their spring training camp at Blair Field. The Armada invite all Cubs fans back to Blair on "Reverse The Curse" Night. Harry Carey, Steve Bartman, The Billy Goat, Chicago celebrities, and a witch doctor will all be present to help REVERSE THE CURSE!!! All fans wearing Cubs Memorabilia will receive half price tickets to the game. ALL GOATS ARE FREE OF CHARGE!!!

Now the Armada players will have to test their skills against the defending Gold Medalists from last year's Un-Olympics Night - The Armada Front Office. Come watch the thrill of embarrassment and the agony of The Fleet as Team Armada Players attempt to avenge last year's loss to the crafty Team Armada Staff. Un-Olympics 2 will feature Olympic events that just missed being added to the slate in Beijing, such as The Belching Contest, The Frozen T-Shirt Contest, The Garbage Bag Relay, Super Sized Lawn Bowling, and more. The Armada Fans, who finished with a disappointing Bronze Medal in last season's Un-Olympics Competition, will be able to sign up to join Team Armada Fans at armada@goldenbaseball.com.

The Armada kick off their 2008 baseball card series presented by Legends Sports Bar and Grill and The Press Telegram with a limited edition collectible baseball card of Catcher Dave Parrish, the former 1st round Draft Choice of the New York Yankees and son of 8-time All-Star Lance Parrish. The first 1,000 fans that enter the doors at Blair will receive a free baseball card and a coupon for a free appetizer at Legends Restaurant and Sports Bar on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore.

Often imitated but never duplicated, Legends Restaurant and Sports Bar has been serving the Long Beach community since 1979. Come join the Armada players at the grand daddy of them all after the game.
