The Orange County Flyers are on the precipice of the post-season, one win away from locking up a playoff berth. After splitting a doubleheader against South Division first-half winner Maui on Tuesday, the Flyers pushed their magic number down to 1, setting up an opportunity to clinch in front of the home crowd with a win on Thursday against the Cimarrones de Tijuana.

Fans are invited to join Orange County on Thirsty Thursday, August 26, as the Flyers hope to secure their first trip to the playoffs since the 2008 title run, giving fans a chance to begin celebrating early with $2 beers and sodas, presented by The Pint House.

The Flyers defeated the Strong Warriors of Maui in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, 6-4, as winning pitcher Manny Ayala tied the league record with his 12th win of the season, a record he has held a share of since 2005. OC scored three runs in teh bottom of the fifth inning to chase Maui's Gregorio Martinez from the game, getting the go-ahead run on a Derek Perren two-run double to right field. Julian Benavidez blasted his fourth homerun in the last five games.

Orange County will face the Cimarrones de Tijuana on Thursday, Friday and a Saturday doubleheader in the finale regular season home stand of the 2010 season, and tickets for all games are still available by calling (714) 526-8326 or by going to the team's website www.OrangeCountyFlyers.com to reserve a seat.
