Florida Tropics SC Start Final Road Trips of Season with Stop in Harrisburg, Baltimore
February 23, 2018 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Florida Tropics SC News Release
LAKELAND - The Florida Tropics SC will hit the road for back-to-back games this weekend and next to close out the 2017-18 Major Arena Soccer League regular season.
Florida will be at Harrisburg Friday night, Feb. 23, for a 7:35 start, and in Baltimore Saturday for a 6:05 p.m. Kickoff. Both games will be broadcast live at www.masl.tv.
The Tropics are looking to sweep the season series, after Harrisburg did that to Florida last year. The Tropics are led by Ricardo Diegues with 21 goals and 13 assist for 34 points. Thiago Freitas continues to pace the Heat with 7 goals and 25 assists for 32 points. Tony Donatelli leads the Baltimore attack with 20 goals and 19 assists.
The team will close the year with games Saturday, March 3 at Milwaukee and Sunday, March 4 at Kansas City.
Although the Tropics are mathematically alive for a playoff spot, their "tragic" number for being eliminated from post season play is one. Any Florida loss or Syracuse win this weekend will mean the Silver Knights will earn the second and final playoff spot in the MASL east. Florida enters the weekend 9-9 while Syracuse is 12-7.
