
Florida scores in final seconds to defeat South Georgia, 45-40

ALBANY, GA- Firecats quarterback Chris Wallace connected with WR/LB Cainon Lamb for an 11 yard touchdown pass with six seconds remaining in the game to take the lead 45-40. The Wildcats could not convert in the final sees seconds falling to the defending ArenaCup champions at the Albany Civic Center in front of 6,567.
Starting tonight for the injured Bobby Pesavento, quarterback Brian Zbydniewski finished the night 24-of-39 for 273 yards and two touchdowns with one interception and rushed for 12 yards and one touchdown. His main target of the night was Ironman of the Game WR/DB Antwone Savage who had nine catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns and returned one kickoff for a 52 yard score. He also added one tackle on the night. WR/DB Montrail Pittman added three receptions for 49 yards and ran for 10 yards on two carries for one touchdown.
Defensively the Wildcats were led by DS Elliot Burks who had 8.5 tackles (8UA, 1 A) and one interception. Voncellies Allen and Ryan Bell both combined for a sack on Wallace.
Quarterback Chris Wallace completed 22-of-33 passes for 255 yards and seven touchdowns. Offensive Player of the Game OS Magic Benton caught eight balls for 135 yards and four touchdowns and Cainon Lamb was named Defensive Player of the Game with eight catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns and one tackle.
The Wildcats will travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas Twisters on Saturday, June 18 at 8:00 p.m. and will play host to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers on Saturday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m.
