Florida Flight News Release

The Florida Flight, based out of Kissimmee, Fla., and one of four new teams in the World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) this season, has re-scheduled its June 27 home game against the Jacksonville (Fla.) BlueWaves for Tuesday, May 11.

The game was moved due to a conflicting date at the Flight's home arena, the Kissimmee Civic Center. The Civic Center is hosting the Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) National Tournament that day and will be unavailable to the Flight.

The rescheduled Florida-Jacksonville game will serve as the kickoff to the WBA's seventh season, one that features seven teams in four different states. Along with the Flight, Jacksonville, the Franklin (Tenn.) Knights and the Marietta (Ga.) Storm all are in their first season in the WBA. The holdovers from 2009 are the defending WBA champion Gwinnett (Ga.) Majic, Decatur (Ga.) Court Kings and the Tupelo (Miss.) Rock & Rollers.

The other five teams in the WBA get their season started May 14, with Gwinnett hosting Franklin, Tupelo going to Marietta and Decatur hosting

Jacksonville. All three games are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.

There are three more games scheduled for May 15, as Decatur heads to Gwinnett, Jacksonville goes to Marietta and Florida is on the road at Tupelo. The Decatur-Gwinnett game tips off at 6 p.m., with the other two contests set to start at 7. The league's opening weekend closes out May

16 with a single 7 p.m. game pitting Florida against the Franklin Knights in Franklin.

Each team will play 16 regular-season games before the playoffs, which are scheduled to start in mid-July.
